About

Keeandra Birch, MA Clinical Intern

I have spent much of my time working with children and adolescents

in hospital settings and youth outreach programs. As a young adult, learning about and engaging in a safe therapeutic relationship taught me how to use my voice authentically in a way that completely transformed my life. As a result, I care deeply about helping young people develop a voice to communicate their experiences and needs in a nonjudgmental space. I

believe firmly in the power of creating safety within a caring, supportive

environment to empower individuals to be authentic in relationships

with others in the here and now.

I take a trauma-informed, person-centered, and humanistic approach that focuses on creating safety in the therapeutic relationship, developing skills to experience and manage emotions, and allowing a person to come as they are, rather than how they feel they should. I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to provide support as they walk through this journey and help them continue to attune to their child’s needs and experiences. I believe that through being seen and known as they are, people can experience true healing that allows them to enter genuine, supportive relationships with honesty and vulnerability. With healthy attachment, authentic engagement, and positive coping skills, one can choose to experience transformative healing that leads to wholeness.
