My approach to therapy uses trauma-informed, mind-body healing methods that allow us to live with gradually more joy and ease, even when life is messy and hard. This often involves reprocessing the meaning our minds have created about difficult past experiences so we can get unstuck from present difficulties. I strongly believe in the healing potential of relationships, and I help my clients relate to their bodies, emotions, thoughts, and to the people in their lives with compassion and wisdom. I have extensive experience with mindfulness practices and like to integrate them into my sessions when appropriate. Each client’s needs, strengths, and interests inform how I customize my approach, and I am dedicated to building a collaborative and safe therapeutic alliance with everyone I help.
I left a career in music to learn how to alleviate suffering in others and myself. I have since served as a mental health advocate, a support group leader, a hospital patient attendant, and a crisis line operator. In my previous internship, I worked as a therapist, primarily with individual adults. It feels deeply rewarding to provide a relaxing, trusting, and empathetic space for growth and healing around whatever challenges my clients bring through the door.
